- SLAX 是一个快速而美观的Linux操作系统,它可以在一张CD-ROM小光盘上(3.14"光盘或者USB均可)直接运行,而并不需要安装,制作出来的CD运行是基于Slackware Linux 的发行版本,使用统一文件系统,运行的所有数据都保存在RAM中,这款软件比较适合打算初步认识Linux系统和一些低配置的朋友们.

- This is the super-stable release of Slax 6 which works on SMP machines (multiprocesor or dualcore, etc) and is based on linux live scripts 6.0.1
- hotplug removed, device should be autodetected by udev
- that leads to improved boot speed (saves 30 seconds on some platforms)
- linux kernel updated to 2.6.20 with wifi and ndiswrapper support
- full sound support (alsa 1.0.14)
- ntfs-3g support
- isolinux boot from CD, syslinux boot from USB
- using LZMA patches, backward compatible with old slax modules!
- using AUFS instead of uninfs
- to boot from USB, copy all data (/boot and /slax directory) to your USB device (FAT32 filesystem required) and run ./boot/bootinst.sh if you are in Linux or ./boot/bootinst.bat if you're in Windows
known bugs:
- koffice doesn't work somehow, so just don't use it :)
